LETTER TO MY MIND

Give me silence

Give me peace give me the chance to be still

Without the constant reliance on a pill

Let me sleep without the echoing screams…

Begging for silence

MS. MICHELLE

The girl finds the broken mirror lying on the ground in the darkest abandoned place of her imagination
Mirror in hand she looks into its frigid reflection framed with emeralds and fear
Radiant beams of sunlight curls, golden cheeks, and cigarette smoke embrace her
it revels a sailors mouth telling the cunning lies of a pawn man
an imagination of a broken painter, smells of old crusty acrylics and the sap of pine tress
Curve hugging jeans and a leather jacket holding in the emotions of a widow
Rings of bliss and joy and the fatherly smell of saw dust fill the vacant space
Crackles of a record player, and the screams of Clare Torry with wooden tables and refineries
burnt rice and forgotten dreams staining her $5 Pink Floyd tee shirt
luminous snow hugging the edges of her broken family
Vodka staining the mind around and within, cradling the feeling of abandonment
charcoal stained eyes, as she watches the ones she loved be washed away in crystal and dirty needles.

Copper

I wake to a scream of a shattering glass, thinking of the mess a small glass would make. The raging smells of death surround me as I walk out of my room to a slotted family, that isn’t dead yet. Terrified, I run screaming back to the small concrete cell and force my eyes to take me away.. My mouth fills with warmth and the bitter sweet taste of blood fills my mouth. I look down to see that I have been shot. The black pink Floyd shirt now a beautiful auburn red. It’s a familiar sent….copper, wine, and tears. I look up to find the eyes of my killer, I look to see myself smiling at the scene.  After an hour of life reflection, the realization came to me I am not dead. As I lay on the cold concrete floor I come to accept the fact that I will never escape the hell that has come to consumed me.
